RAIJIN KIRIKAMA
FIFTY TWO MALE KAGE KIRIGAKURE ELEMENT AFFINITY | GENERAL INFORMATION NAME & ALIAS | Raijin Kirikama. Onibi [Demon's Fire] and Kaijin [Man-shaped Monster]. AGE | 50. BIRTHDATE | 02/14. GENDER & SEXUALITY | Male | Heterosexual. VILLAGE | Kirigakure. RANK & POSITION | MIZUKAGE | CHAKRA NATURE | Katon. CHAKRA MANIPULATION | Katon. HEIGHT & BUILD | 7'11", 300 pounds and ripped. APPEARANCE | Physical: Over his lifetime, Raijin's body has been barred upon by every imaginable kind of affliction, from fire to freezing cold temperatures to acid to blades. The man stands near eight feet tall, weighing in at over three hundred pounds. Across his skin are several small scars from these damages, acting as tokens of memorable events in the man's life. His skin is of a dark chocolaty tone, which is unusual in a Kirigakure shinobi. Those who have felt him compare its texture to that of smooth leather, as his entire body is something like that of a callous. Everything about Raijin is simply gargantuan. His hands are large enough to easily envelope a large portion of a person's skull, let alone completely wrap itself around another's neck. Raijin's body ripples from his adornment of heavily packed muscles, the man seemingly being without a single ounce of fat on his person. Even when not flexed, the man's muscles are considered to be as hard as steel, but still rather firm as flesh should be. The man is clearly not ashamed of his body, as seen with his typical style of clothing he tends to wear. The Raikage's blindingly bright yellow hair falls past his dark shoulders in a messy assortment of spines, while to long strips of bangs are allowed to fall down his chest as far as his pecs. His hair is considerably course, despite how many times or how vigorously he may wash it. It seems rather impossible to manage, not to mention cut, as the state it always seems to be in is natural. His beastly yellow eyes seem to pierce even steel itself, granting the man an intimidating presence for those who look upon them. His massive frame and powerful body don't help alleviate the tension bore by those who fear the man, no doubt. Attire: Due to his great size, there is often a limit to what the man is able to wear. Tailors simply don't fashion their wears to be worn by giants, it seems, meaning the man typically special orders his clothes. He has taken a liking to large open shirts of the red variety, his most common wear being a short sleeved jacket with massive golden cuffs that fall just above the elbow, and an equally gold trim lining its hem. It possesses a high rising collar, to which the man generally keeps up. As for lower body, Raijin casually wears a pair of black, ankle-length trousers as well as black shinobi sandals. However, when not on a mission, he can be seen wearing beige slacks or blue jeans and black loafers. While they generally clash with his jacket, them an doesn't seem to give any notice. Across Raijin's forehead is a red headband, being the Mizukage and a symbol of the village himself, Raijin generally doesn't wear the cloud's marking upon himself anymore. On his right hip lies his shinobi pouch, which is quite easy for the man to access at any given time. Tattooed upon his ventral wrists are tiny seals for the use of Raiko Kenka. When representing the village, or sometimes when he simply feels cold, Raijin will wear the casual Mizukage outift consisting of the large coat and wide brimmed hat. Both seem to suit the man quite well, granting himself a feeling of power and respect when feeling the tails of his coat flap in the wind behind him. |
PERSONALITY When around people, Raijin's energy tends to make him come off overenthusiastic. A flaw, no doubt, but this is quite the opposite around the children of the village. Such an energetic man-child will happily play with and help train the students of the Academy, as he was once a teacher. This energetic trait is more often than not useful in combat, as it gives him a relentless style of pursuing an opponent. Anyone he considers a friend or ally will be guaranteed to be under Raijin's protection. He has had no trouble throwing himself in front of an incoming danger whether it harms him or not, in order to save someone close to him. When he fails to protect one of his loved ones, the darker side of Raijin will most definitely make itself known. Despite being the happy-go lucky, bouncing dynamo of the man he is around others, Raijin is still the Mizukage. He has learned to become heartless in the face of a tough decision if the village asks it of him. Hesitation is also dropped when he is serious, even if that is when he must cut down someone he once called friend. LIKES ♥ Children ♥ Fighting ♥ Dango DISLIKES ✗ Uchiha ✗ Aging ✗ Paperwork GOAL ✦ To find the snake that had entered his home years ago and finish her off. ✦ To train the next Mizukage. ✦ To stay alive till the age of one hundred.
OTHER INFORMATION SPECIAL SKILLS SAIKYŌ NO TATE 最強の盾 [lit. Strongest Shield] The Mizukage has found home in the now quite peaceful village of Kirigakure, however, he has only lived here for half of his life and for the other half he lived on Turtle Island. It was this elongated exposure to the rawest of animalistic elements that supposedly turned Raijin into the beast of a man he is today. His most prominent of traits, seemingly acquired due to special training upon the island of the turtle, is his seemingly impossible level of durability. Like his predecessor Kirigakure from centuries past, Raijin's body is considerably indestructible. It is often said he is a living mass of adamant, his flesh far too hard to scratch or pierce by even chakra-enhanced blades, while remaining turgid and firm enough to take building-shattering impacts without hinder. It takes repeated and powerful strikes capable of harming such a defense to damage the Mizukage, though he is very well capable of harming himself. Even Raijin's hair is considerably stronger than normal, as it is often compared to steel while when tested; using chakra to harden each fiber makes them just as hard as he. Overall, the Mizukage is a man of absolute defense. ONIBI 鬼火 [lit. Demon's Fire] A flame spawned from a demon; that is what those in the world of shinobi know Raijin as today. He is called such for his strange yet potent style of wielding flames burning murderous intent dangerously close to his own person, if not actually wearing them like an incendiary cloak of fighting spirit. This is due to the abnormal durability of his flesh, granting him protection from the devastating heat as he fights. His potential for heat resistance is great enough to retain his Onibi technique, dubbed after receiving his title, for up to a minute before being damaged. This was always considered a terrifyingly awesome feat, as such heat could turn a normal man to ash without ever touching the Mizukage. Often times, the man will use dozens of exploding tags point blank, remaining unfazed by their harm while his surroundings are decimated. All but the most potent of flames seemingly have no way to damage the man through heat alone, making Raijin an absolute lord of Katon on the battlefield. IRORITETSU 鑪鉄 [lit. Iron Hearth] When the body heals minor wounds within itself, the afflicted areas are permanently reinforced, though the amount is very granular. As Raijin's body is capable of taking massive amounts of damage and still keep him standing, the amount of reinforcement that is generated from healed wounds is highly increased. Through a method of directly exposing his body to flames for several hours at a time, in which the heat would gradually work its way within the man and cause damage to multiple parts of his body and allowing the wounds to heal, Raijin has created a way to increase his own physical durability several times higher than it used to be, even higher than most of the Raikage's from the past. Unlike before, however, this training method worked to increase the durability of something thought impossible for Taijutsu specialists to do; their internal organs. As of now, the once soft parts of Raijin's body are now as durable as the rest of his flesh. Attacks that aim to harm his biology, be it electricity, poison, or physical attacks, will find the Mizukage highly resistant if not immune to most of their attempts. Though he is very capable of being stunned, electricity hardly hampers or damages his body, while toxins of all sorts seemingly have trouble causing his microscopic tissues to decay, let alone enter and infect his body. TEISHITAI 弟師体 [lit. Master of Body] With a body as perfectly honed as Raijin's, there exist few to no others who possess physical capabilities as monstrous as he. The man has trained with creatures no shinobi alone could overcome, though he had found his place among them when he was but a child. Whether gifted with strength in his genes, or if he truly is the epitome of hard work's efforts, the Mizukage is living proof that the limits of the human form can be far exceeded, reaching the potentials of a god. Today, Raijin stands as one of the conquering titans of Taijutsu, owning hand to hand skills that far surpass those who do not share a similar specialty. His mighty strength dwarfs those of entire platoons, being able to lift and throw towering boss summons with his gargantuan arms, let alone lift and wield his Zantokan blades as if they were basic katana. A single solid strike from this man could cave in entire cliff sides, marking each and everyone one of his attacks as a lethal blow if he ever so wishes. Aside from titanic strength, Raijin owns an impressively agile body. Though speed is not his strongest suit, he is still capable of moving faster than most shinobi could dream, falling short only to speed-specialized shinobi of his own physical level. His evasive defenses often include moving just shy of where a strike would land, making it seem as if he had been hit, but unaffected. Lastly, the Taijutsu master's most prominent trait would have to be his incredible stamina, one that earns him his title as Kaijin. It is said the Mizukage is capable of fighting for two full days before dropping from exhaustion. In terms of combat in a shorter duration, this allows the man to blast his full strength repetitive times without feeling strain for several minutes, overwhelming opponents with titanic Taijutsu techniques. SHORŌKAIJŪ 老け怪獣 [lit. Aging Monster] Raijin, as Mizukage, is a man with vast experience in both the art of war and the inevitability of human nature. He has pushed himself in every fight, in every training session, to become stronger than he once was, and the man has done so with unexpected results. The Mizukage became something that others aspire to; a man who had earned all he had through dedication and a joy for what he loves. However, it is this very training, coupled with his increasing age, that the shinobi began to understand the consequences of his actions. A battle-worn body can boast great durability, as he has come to learn, but it does not gain such without great sacrifice. Over the course of his life, Raijin's worn body has slowly but surely weakened in function, save for his muscles which are worked on a constant basis. This, overtime, has given the man a prominent heart problem, one that requires occasional medicinal relief if he were to experience an excruciating episode. Were he to strain himself too far in combat, the man would require medical attention in order to recuperate. Thus, he has been given a set of medicinal, fast-acting capsules to carry on his person, relieving the stress that pains his chest before it becomes something serious. This is what is known as the crack in the invulnerable man's armor; his one true weakness.

HISTORY Raijin was never thought to become the shinobi he is today. He wasn't even thought to become a shinobi at all, being born to simple civilians within the village. His father spent his days out in his lakeshore cabin as a carpenter, while his mother stayed home and cared for the boy. She was a kind woman, and did everything she could to give her son all the love and attention he needed. However, once a toddler, Raijin began to long for his father's attention as well. Unfortunately, his work kept him far from the family until the late hours of the night, leaving his son without a regular father figure. Several attempts at sneaking after his father were taken, but most of them ended with the boy either getting lost or falling into an accident. Often, when he had a small window of time to talk with his father, he would feel ignored. To try and gain more attention, the boy learned to speak loudly, setting himself up for a personal trait that continues to be noticed to this day. His drive to bond with his father ended up making him a menace to the family. This continued well past toddlerhood. When the boy was six, he tried the most dangerous of attempts to bond with his father; an attempt that was so dangerous, it shifted the course of his life forever. His father was called to visit a roaming stretch of land known as the Island Turtle. It appeared that the settlements there were in desperate need for repair, so a number of skilled engineers and handymen were shipped to fix the architecture. Seeing this as a great opportunity, the boy sneaked onto the vessel, waiting several days until it met with the island. As it had turned out, however, his father had denied the trip so that he could bond with his son at home. Nobody could identify the boy; those who weren't the children of famous people tended to go unnoticed by the public. Nobody took the time to take care of him while they stayed. Nobody noticed that he wasn't on the ship back. Alone and scared, Raijin had been abandoned on the Island Turtle; alone to face the monstrous wilderness that hid within its jagged forests and mountains. The boy faced numerous turmoils and was chased by some of the largest beasts in existence. He was hurt, he was cut and torn, he was battered and bruised. Raijin wanted nothing else but to give up and let the island finish him. However, he discovered he possessed while faced by the most terrifying of monsters: his voice. The boy learned that, out of all the animals that could possibly live on the turtle's back, the child had the loudest voice of them all. Shouting at the beasts was enough to at least surprise them, and conjure fear in many others. After seeking refuge with a group of herbivores, the boy would thrive in the environment for well over a year. At eight-years old, the boy had been discovered by a group of training shinobi. They were surprised to see someone as young as he living in such a dangerous place; they were even more surprised to hear that he could talk. The ninja, though only Chuunin, were impressed with the boy's physical prowess after a year and a half on the island, as his strength challenged even their own. The idea of taking Raijin back to Kirigakure was an uncertain one brought up during the shinobi's stay, but after hearing that the boy actually hailed from there, it was decided. Raijin had a tearful reunion with his parents, who had spent the entire time searching for their lost son. While in terms of appearance their boy had changed drastically, he still remained the loud goofball of a child that the two had raised. The boy told them of his long stay on the dangerous island, regaling them on all the life-threatening encounters he had experience as well as the friends he made on it. He then approached them with the idea of becoming a shinobi, being recommended by a trio of Chuunin. The couple felt there was little they could do; their son had already shown that he'd go to the world's end to get what he wanted. Becoming a shinobi was harder than it had seemed. Raijin's physical prowess surprised those of his class, but his understanding of chakra and all of the basics were below average. Hand to hand fighting was also a weakness, as the boy had great power but little control. His seemingly high durability, however, allowed him to take quite a beating before going down, giving him the title of 'The Training Dummy' by his classmates. Of course, even the roughest of stones can be made sharp with enough effort. The boy focused heavily in his studies and martial arts training, slowly but surely gaining a grasp over the concept of being a shinobi. Soon, he was forced to challenge the teacher to fights, as only someone of a higher caliber could handle the strength behind his strikes. Finally, at the age of ten, Raijin graduated from the Academy. The time frame he remained a Genin was one of the shortest of his life. It took all but a year of training with his team mates and tedious missions before the boy was deemed ready to take the Chuunin Exams. He didn't win, though his placement for someone of his age was impressive enough to determine him of Chuunin level. This period of time was much longer than that of his lower rank. Though he wasn't breaking any records, Raijin was considered quite young to be a Chuunin, as seeing an eleven year old carrying out missions along side that of a twenty year old was almost comical. Over the years at this rank, the boy was taught to become more analytic, discovering his opponent's strengths and weaknesses before going for the kill. Unfortunately, Raijin's retention of this was a little backwards; he would run straight into battle to force his opponents to attack or defend, letting himself take the damage from his mistake in order to gauge his target's mentality. Strangely enough, this strategy seemed to work, as the boy's body was more than sturdy enough to take on a plethora of abuse without giving. About a decade would pass, and the boy would become a strong man. At the age of twenty, Raijin had learned how to use his first element. With the basic of jutsu understood, he was offered the job as a teacher at the Academy. He took the opportunity, enlightening the young minds of Kirigakure. The loudness of his speaking helped keep the majority of the students awake, as well as his spontaneous way of teaching. He even resumed his old Academy title, as he would let the students practice their skills on him while he would gauge their strength and potential. This occupation of his developed a great love of children, as Raijin visits the students of the Academy often to this day. He had learned to balance his duties as a teacher with that of his life as a shinobi over the course of almost a decade, performing missions quick enough to return back to school after the weekend break. This job, however, kept him from leaving the village too often, making him miss out on some of the world changing events that were going on. Such profession had earned Raijin a chance at becoming a Jonin, though it would mean the end of his position as a teacher. He took the rank up, knowing that in his off time he could still visit the children he cared for. At the age of thirty, Raijin had decided that his life had become too busy, and retired as a shinobi. He ended up moving to the Island Turtle, becoming reacquainted with the wildlife and living his peaceful, yet dangerous, life as when he was younger. He remained here until he was almost fourty, when the man was drafted into upcoming war. However, upon returning to his comrades, he appeared more beast than man. In battle, his body received little to no damage at all, leading entire battalions as the one-man front line. Upon the end of the war, he returned to life on the Island Turtle. However, a feeling nagged at him from the back of his head as he meditated; a feeling of neglected duty. Raijin ended up moving back to Kirigakure, where he resumed his life as a Jonin. Upon reaching a respective age, he was asked to join the shinobi council, to which he accepted. Years have passed, and events have come and gone that changed Kirigakure for the better. Raijin stayed as one of the council, offering his input on political matters while still finding time to banter with the Academy students. It was around that time that the man met Genkou Emi, a common ANBU escort of his as well as the student of the Mizukage's sister. She had been a student of his at the Academy a decade earlier, the man remembering her for her promising talent as well as her self consciousness. It seemed like the two became close friends after some time, and then evolved into something much more. He and the girl began to date, remaining strong and happy despite what onlookers would say about the difference in their age. Months would pass, and the Mizukage's time in the world had come to a close. Replacing him was another young man, one who claimed himself to be a god. He could certainly boast the power he claimed, but he still seemed inexperienced to the giant. Nevertheless, he helped run the village along side of the newly appointed leader. When he was assigned a mission to retrieve the Banshousen, Raijin was faced against the culprit himself in a one on one fight. The man was an ex Kirigakure shinobi, one who had grown up as somewhat of a rival to the giant. They clashed fists and jutsu, utterly destroying the surrounding area by the time their fight had come to an end. Though the man failed to retrieve the precious fan, he did receive an honorary title by his colleagues; one that would match up to the Red Tiger's legacy. Tragedy struck the village when the sudden revival of the Uchiha spawned within their walls. The dark shared devils took both the tools of the Sage that the village had kept, as well as the life of the Mizukage. Raijin, who had been dealing with shinobi just outside of the building where the man was assassinated, bore a terrible guilt for not being able to save the boy in time. The village was utterly rocked, and without any sort of guiding head, it was sure to crumble .That was when Zaku decided to throw away the gift of a rather relaxed life and take the reins of the Mizukage. Considering his experience, the other council members had no reason to deny him of the position. On the same day he had decided to strive to become the leader, Raijin had also proposed to Emi, after countless months of dating. With a new position and a family, Raijin's drive to protect those close to him has never become stronger. He has become the symbol of the village' strength itself, and has vowed to never falter before turmoil lest he resign as the Mizukage. The man's first step in securing his home was to align with the stone village, sharing a massive magnitude of a meeting with the Tsuchikage herself, ensuring both of their homes would stand side by side were the dark clouds of war to rear their heads. Given the bonding from a mountain-shattering spar shared before business had conducted, and the uncertain states of both villages, Stone and Mist had formed an alliance. Having led his village through a strife between both the other shinobi nations and the warring clans of a samurai war, and with a new child on the way, things seemed to have looked up for Kirigakure. Hope existed where the Uchiha had once torn a hole in his home, and stability once again took over the mist. Even through the exams, with the tension of rising war circulating throughout the atmosphere, Raijin felt as if everything had moved back where it belonged. Along came a snake... It was a golden evening shared between the Mizukage and his wife, when the world had turned into hell. Terrorist shinobi had managed to make their way into Kirigakure, and into the bedroom of both Raijin and Emi. Given their stealth, they had managed to incapacitate and capture his beloved, retiring to wherever they had come with word to meet once more in the future. In his anger, Raijin destroyed the majority of his home. Days had passed before Raijin had ventured from his home in search of the covetous snake who had stolen his wife. A fierce battle ensued, though Raijin had come out victorious. However, he had not left with his wife without a feeling of dread as his opponent cursed he and his home, stating she would cause those he loved to suffer due to not meeting her demands. Even now, having won, the knowledge that the woman had managed to snake her way into his home undetected kept the Mizukage on edge. Shortly after the ordeal, Raijin and Emi were gifted with their first birth child, Daichi. Though small and frail, Raijin immediately began to imagine their son as the village's future hero, and even as the Mizukage. What was most important, though, was that they finally found true stability within the village. Raijin had his family, one that he thought he would have lost just days before. Over the course of four years, Kirigakure continued its path toward stability, finally making a full recovery since the Uchiha attack. His village's displays during the various Chunin Exams, namely that which his cousin Samui had participated in, caused an uproar of customers to seek service from the Mist. This seemingly had a domino effect, as the strong arm of Kirigakure had made word across the nations, with the village becoming even more prosperous. Within this time, Raijin and Emi even had a daughter, making both shinobi parents of two. But even in such peaceful times, Raijin still fears for the inevitable arrival of the woman who had almost taken everything from him. Since then, Kirigakure's security forces have been focused upon, the Mizukage ensuring the safety of those within his walls, though displaying his caution to the world. He would not allow such a heinous act to take place in his home again.
